Stop Saying You're "Just Getting Old.

Age isn't causing all your problems. It's exposing them.
Every time someone tells me, "I'm just getting old," I want to ask them one question...
Then why don't we all fall apart at the exact same age?
If age were the only reason for your bad back, aching knees, low energy, high blood pressure, or Type 2 diabetes, every 50-year-old would look and feel the same. Every 60-year-old would have identical health. Every 70-year-old would be in the same condition.
But they aren't.
Some people are hiking mountains at 75.
Others struggle to get out of a chair at 55.
The difference isn't the calendar.
It's the choices that came before it.
Think of your body like a bank account. Every workout, every quality meal, every good night's sleep is a deposit. Every year of inactivity, poor nutrition, chronic stress, and lack of strength training is a withdrawal.
You may get away with bad habits in your 20s and 30s because your body is incredibly forgiving.
But eventually...
The bill comes due.
I like to think of it as a ticking time bomb that's quietly running in the background. Every decision you make either shortens the fuse or slows it down. As you get older, the summary of those choices starts showing up.
Your body keeps score.
Does that mean aging doesn't matter? Of course not.
Aging is inevitable.
Declining faster than necessary is not.
You can't control the number of candles on your birthday cake, but you have far more control over how you feel than most people believe.
So stop blaming your birth certificate.
Instead, ask yourself:
"What has my body been trying to tell me for the last 10, 20, or 30 years?"
Because getting older isn't the problem.
Ignoring your health until you get older usually is.
