The Power of Vitamin D + K2

(And Why I’ll Never Ignore Them Again)

I’ll be honest…

Lately, I haven’t been as consistent with my morning routine as I normally am.

And one of the first things that slipped?

My vitamins.

Specifically:

  • My Vitamin D3 + K2

  • My methylated multivitamin

At first, I didn’t think much of it. Life gets busy, routines get thrown off, and you convince yourself it’s “not a big deal.”

But after a while, I started noticing it.

I was:

  • Constantly tired

  • Moody

  • Low energy

  • Mentally foggy

  • Just feeling… blah

Not sick. Not depressed. Just not feeling like myself.

And honestly? I think a LOT of people are walking around feeling this exact way without realizing how much their body is missing nutritionally.

Why Vitamin D Matters So Much

Vitamin D isn’t just a “vitamin.”

It acts more like a hormone in the body and plays a role in:

  • Energy levels

  • Mood

  • Immune health

  • Hormone function

  • Bone health

  • Muscle function

  • Inflammation

  • Recovery

And here’s the scary part…

A huge percentage of people are deficient or insufficient in Vitamin D — especially people who:

  • Work indoors

  • Don’t get much direct sunlight

  • Wear sunscreen constantly

  • Live high-stress lifestyles

  • Have poor sleep habits

Sound familiar?

The Difference Between “Functioning” and Feeling GOOD

This is what I think a lot of people miss.

You can still:

  • Go to work

  • Get through the day

  • Take care of responsibilities

…and still not feel optimal.

That was me recently.

I was functioning.

But I wasn’t firing on all cylinders.

And because the decline is gradual, you almost don’t notice how “off” you feel until you fix it.

Why I Pair Vitamin D with K2

This part is important.

A lot of people take Vitamin D by itself, but pairing it with Vitamin K2 helps direct calcium where it actually needs to go — like your bones and teeth — instead of potentially building up where you don’t want it.

Think of it like this:

  • Vitamin D helps absorb calcium

  • Vitamin K2 helps tell the calcium where to go

They work together.

The Methylated Multivitamin Piece

I also started consistently taking my methylated multivitamin again.

This matters because many people struggle to properly utilize certain forms of B vitamins, especially folate.

Methylated forms are generally easier for the body to use efficiently.

And when your body is low on key nutrients? You feel it.

Usually as:

  • Fatigue

  • Low motivation

  • Brain fog

  • Poor recovery

  • Mood changes

The Crazy Part? The Change Happened FAST

Once I got consistent again with:

  • Vitamin D3 + K2

  • My methylated multivitamin

  • My morning routine overall

…it was a WORLD of difference.

My:

  • Energy improved

  • Mood improved

  • Mental clarity improved

  • Motivation improved

I felt more like myself again.

Not because supplements are “magic.”

But because my body finally had what it needed consistently.

Supplements Aren’t Meant to Replace the Basics

And let me be clear…

No supplement replaces:

  • Sleep

  • Nutrition

  • Hydration

  • Exercise

  • Stress management

But if your foundation is decent and your body is still missing key nutrients?

It absolutely matters.

Sometimes people think they need:

  • More caffeine

  • More motivation

  • More discipline

When in reality, their body is just under-supported nutritionally.

Final Thought

One of the biggest lessons I’ve learned over the years in fitness and coaching is this:

Small daily habits create massive differences in how you feel.

And sometimes the things that move the needle most aren’t complicated at all.

For me recently? It was simply getting back to consistency with my:

  • Vitamin D3 + K2

  • Methylated multivitamin

  • Morning routine

And it reminded me how powerful the basics really are.

At Butler Elite Training, this is exactly what we teach: Not extremes. Not gimmicks. Just learning how to support your body consistently so you can actually feel good again.

Because feeling healthy and functioning optimally shouldn’t feel rare.
